Broadstairs Extravaganza
Sadly the Broadstairs Extravaganza is unlikely to happen again. A number of things happened at the 2003 event which has caused the organiser to decide she is no longer continuing to run the event.
The Broadstairs Extravaganza is now a regular event each year usually held on the first weekend of August.
The 2003 event is takes place on 2nd & 3rd August in the Bandstand and Victoria Gardens from 10 am - 5pm each day. The event raises money each year for local charities, and in the past has donated money to the Broadstairs Carnival and Broadstairs & Ramsgate Sea Cadets. This year the committee has decided that they are not going to support just one Charity, they have decided that after the event is concluded and they know what funds are available, they are going to look for worthy local causes.
On Saturday we have the
Rockin Royles
performing in the Bandstand followed by the Allegro Dance School from Faversham. (times to be confirmed)
On Sunday the Rockin Royles perform again, followed by the East Kent Bagpipe Society. (times to be confirmed)
On Victoria Gardens there will be a Psychic Fayre, along with children's rides, 50ft inflatable slide, side stalls, craft stalls, beer tent, face painting, children's competitions and The Performance Art Workshop for Kids on both days.
The Art Workshop will be giving children the opportunity to use various mediums to make costumes/masks and at the end of each day they will be encouraged to act out a small play for their parents, showing what they have learnt. This is provided free of charge.
In the centre of the green on both days will be a selection of classic cars.
